There is so much beauty in the mundane every day postpartum things, and so often we miss it all because we are too busy LIVING it. Let’s capture some of that beauty for you to see yourself. All sessions combine documentary photography with an educational doula consult. Ask all the questions that you have and get incredible photos afterwards documenting these early days. Valid for anytime within the first 6 months of your baby’s life.

Next, you spend time with your new baby and just live your life while I document it. There’s no need for special outfits or cleaning the house. The laundry and dishes can stay where they are. You don’t even need to get dressed. I aim for a laid-back experience that documents these precious moments – no matter what they look like. After your session, you’ll receive a link to your proof gallery from our time together. This is when you choose your photo package!

Documentary photography captures your real life. I come to hang out and photograph you and your loved ones living. No need to clean up. No need to plan special activities. With over 6 years of experience as a postpartum birthworker (doula), I have extensive experience with postpartum families and newborn babies. I know how intimate and vulnerable these days, weeks, and months can be and I am committed to ensuring that you feel comfortable and at ease.
These sessions take place in your home! I an happy to travel anywhere within the Trail, Castlegar, Rossland, Salmo, and Nelson area and all the places in between! Are you located further away, but still in the Kootenays? I do travel beyond with an additional travel fee added to your session fee.
As a postpartum birthworker (doula), I am an expert in the postpartum time. I am here to answer any of those lingering questions that are on your mind. You know the ones that you are trying (and maybe have failed) to avoid typing into Google? Yeah, those ones. I’ll be your Google. And if you need a place to unload the heavy mental load? You can do that too. Plus I bring you a sweet little package that I give to all of my postpartum clients!

We roll with it! I take the time time to get to know your humans when I first arrive. It is important to me that everyone feels comfortable – being in front of a camera can feel vulnerable for some folks. I never force anything. Usually they let their guard down and join in when they see that this isn’t your usual family photo shoot where they’re forced to smile and stand a certain way.
The turnaround time for photos varies depending on the photographer and their workload. I aim to get your photos to you within 3-4 weeks. You will always receive a sneak peak within 72 hours of your session!
